All Kauai County races are non-partisan. Candidates may belong to a party but may not run under a party.

All Kauai County races will be voted on in the Primary Election August 9th to narrow down the later vote on November 4th.

There are no Council districts for Kauai County, All (7) Kauai Council seats are at-large and up for election this year and every two years.

Each voter can vote for up to seven (7) Councilmembers but does not have to vote for all seven (7.)

The top (14) Council candidates with the most votes will advance to the General Election November 4th.

The top two Mayoral candidates in the Primaries will advance to the general election.

If a Mayoral candidate wins 50% of their race's vote plus one (1) vote in the Primaries, they have won the seat.

The Kauai County Mayor's term is up for election this year and every four years.
