Kalaeloa, Honokai Hale, Ko ‘Olina, Nanakuli, Ma‘ili, Wai‘anae, Makaha, Makua

Background: (from website) "Most people would like to trust the elected representatives to do their job so that we can go on making a living, taking care of our families, and enjoying life.

The shenanigans surrounding the Special Session in 2013 was quite the eye opener. I saw how announcements and rules were disregarded, changed or made up on the fly. This was done largely without concern that people were missing work to testify (often without pay), buying tickets to come from other islands, or were waiting long hours in the hall with their little ones (and  10 hours of chanting was heard but ignored in the chambers). Quite frankly, I saw hundreds of humble people treated with disrespect and it angered me. I testified twice, was questioned, but I was also there every day to observe what I call a broken process. My observations pushed me to run.

I am not a professional politician. When my husband asked how long I would do this I replied, "Two terms tops. That was good enough for George Washington."
