Background: Born and raised in the Big Island's plantation town of Papaikou, Representative Tsuji is a 1959 graduate of Hilo High School and completed his post-secondary degrees at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and the University of Washington, Pacific Coast Banking School. His two sons, Ashley Allen and Ryan Kalei, are graduates of Waiakea High School in Hilo. He is an American politician and a Democratic member of theHawaii House of Representatives representing District 2 since 2005. Tsuji is a member of many organizations, including the Big Island Press Club, Business Education Partnership, Hilo Yacht Club, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawaii, and Pacific Tsunami Museum Board. Background: Background (various sources) Edwin Miranda is the current Hawaii County Democrat District 2 Boardmember. Edwin LP “Ed” Miranda currently held a gubernatorial appointment and serves on the Hawai‘i Island Burials Council. Mr. Miranda is a  graduate of Castle  High  School, and received his Bachelor of Science in General Agriculture from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1988.
