Considers herself "Pro HC&S" which basically means she will never do anything to stop the cane burning no matter how much soot you have or how sick you get, and will probably never do anything to stop the massive amount of pesticide dumping the sugar cane company does.

*Provide a clear education system, one that promotes carreer rediness for students choosing to be “Work Force and Labor Ready” out of high School. 

 

*Support and invest in our University of Hawaii System so we can encourage local students to pursue a higher education at home in Hawaii.

 

*Support our Teachers from Preschool through College. Including removal or revision of the EES system. Defend collective bargaining rights, support increases in teacher pay and keeping affordable medical and retirement benefits.

 

* Look for cost-effective approaches to government services.

 

* Support "Efficienteconomic growth" that will provide sound planning and economic advancement while protecting our delicate environment.

 

*Support affordable housing and rental programs to allow families to live a comfortable lifestyle.

 

*New Refuse/Recycling Center for Maui County that will allow small businesses the opportunity to open a variety recycling programs for various materials from construction debris to appliances etc., helping to reduce the amount of refuse going into our landfill today.

Background (from her website) Born and raised in the Small Plantation town of Kekaha, Kauai, Christy experienced first hand the challenges these small communities face. Christy attended Waimea High School on the Island of Kauai where she excelled, earning enough credits to graduate High School within 3 years. Kauai Community College, helpedhead up the first Electric Vehicle Conversion Project in the State, as well as becoming the Driver/Mechanic for Ka’a La O Kauai, the Schools entry in the 1995 American Solar Challenge.  She completed the Facilities Engineering Program at KCC in 2003. Construction Job Site Inspector with Hawaii Geotech, and later with the State of Hawaii Dept. of Transportation. Operates her own Environmental Consulting and Waste Management Business based in Maui servicing all Hawaiian Islands.
