Elle is a lifelong resident of Lāhainā, and is married to Wayne Cochran, a board shaper and small business owner of Maui Surfboards, Lāhainā’s oldest surf shop. Elle is an avid surfer and ocean enthusiast – her love for the kai and the ‘āina is what drove her to learn about the political process. Founder of the Save Honolua Coalition, a founding member of Faith Action for Community Equity Maui (FACE), and a past President of Maui Unite!

Notable Quote:

"I would love to partner with private land owners that would be willing to either donate or lease land to the County to create ‘dignity villages’ in areas with the most homelessness. I have seen these projects be extremely successful on the mainland, and with the amazing non-profit organizations within Maui County that already exist; I just know we could make this concept work for us as well. It is important to be mindful that people and families run into hard times and need a hand up.

These dignity camps could offer the hand that they need."
